Waaree Energies expands Arizona factory
Waaree Energies will invest $37 million to upgrade its Arizona solar module factory, raising its annual capacity from 1 GW to 1.6 GW.
Waaree Energies is investing $37 million to expand its Arizona solar module factory. The upgrade will increase the facility's annual production capacity from 1 gigawatt to 1.6 gigawatts.
According to a report from pv magazine, the investment was approved by the company's board for its wholly owned subsidiary, Waaree Solar Americas Inc. (WSA). The project involves replacing existing production lines with higher-efficiency equipment at the U.S. facility.
U.S. Manufacturing Capacity
Following the Arizona expansion, Waaree Energies stated its total module manufacturing capacity in the United States will reach 4.8 GW. This total comprises 3.2 GW of capacity located in Texas and the newly upgraded 1.6 GW plant in Arizona. For more detailed performance metrics, see our stats page.
The company said the Arizona investment will be financed through a mix of debt and internal accruals.
Indian Operations Consolidation
In a separate move, Waaree's board has approved the consolidation of some manufacturing operations in India. The plan involves relocating plant and machinery from its 1 GW Tumb facility and 1.11 GW Nandigram facility to its existing manufacturing site in Chikhli, Gujarat.
This relocation is a consolidation of existing production assets. Waaree clarified that it does not, by itself, represent an additional 2.11 GW of new group manufacturing capacity.
Waaree's Global Manufacturing Footprint
Waaree Energies provided an update on its Indian manufacturing scale in December 2025. The company said its total solar module manufacturing capacity in India, which includes subsidiary Indosolar, had reached 20.17 GW. Its Chikhli facility alone accounted for 16.44 GW of capacity approved under India's Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). This consolidation is part of the company's broader operational strategy, similar to how a team manages its squad and fixtures.
The company also operates 5.4 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity at its Chikhli site.
